Picture for category

The two Dutch companies Mepal and Little Dutch are once more joining forces to introduce a crockery collection for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. The crockery line is a continuation of the successful Mepal Mio collection, which was launched in January 2021. The new crockery collection is available in the Flowers and Butterflies and the Sailors Bay themes.

Hello Little Foodies!
Children are little foodies; gourmets that have made eating their hobby. Food and drink are enormous aspects of their tiny worlds. For parents, these first moments in which their little one learns to eat and drink by themselves are absolute milestones that can be relatable, endearing, funny, or even a little frustrating. This is why Little Dutch and Mapal are releasing a lovely collection of children's crockery that meet the needs of the little ones: the ability to eat and drink by themselves, as well as those of the parents: they look good, are convenient, sturdy, dishwasher safe and ergonomic. In other words: less spilling and less frustration.

From bottle to drinking cup
The four cleverly designed drinking cups make drinking easy and fun for various age groups. With the right cup, your child will learn to drink properly. The first stage after the bottle is often a no-leak cup. The no-leak cups have an extra-short spout, two holes rather than one, and large handles. The short spout contributes to a healthier development of your little one's mouth and teeth. And thanks to the two holes and the large handles, your little one can drink by themselves without any problems. Children aged nine months and older can use a straw cup. Thanks to the soft, flexible straw that pops out when you slide the lid open, the child can exercise the muscles of their mouth. With this cup, slurping is allowed!

Soon we will expand the collection with the 360° practice cup which drinks like a normal glass, but the transparent lid will teach your child to dose their drink more carefully and will prevent the liquid from coming out all in one go. This makes it easier for your little one to swallow at the right time. Did your child become a real drinking pro? You can remove the lid and turn it into a normal cup! Finally, the collection also includes a plastic cup that is a perfect fit for little children's hands. Of course, the practice cups don't leak, are dishwasher safe, sturdy and BPA free.

I wanna do it!
In addition to drinking cups, the Mepal Mio X Little Dutch collection also features a practice plate with a practice spoon and a children's bowl and cutlery. There is a baby spoon set for the very first bites, with a convenient storage box for use on the road. The spoons are narrow and flat, allowing for easy tasting. There's also a practice plate with an anti-slip bottom, which means it won't slide around the table. Thanks to the high, curved edge of the practice plate, your little one will learn how to scoop food onto their spoon in no time. That way, even those tricky little peas will end up in their mouth (rather than on the floor!). The practice spoon offers excellent grip and has a short handle, so all those little toddler bites will taste like more. Want to offer a helping hand after all? Thanks to the curve, you can keep a sturdy grip on the plate while you feed your child. You can heat up the food in between, as you can safely put the practice plate in the microwave.

Little ones grow up, so your delightful darling will at some point start eating from the big pot. That's when a children's plate and bowl with matching cutlery will come in handy. The children's crockery is available in a variety of designs, so you can give each child their own plate. Oops! Did a plate or bowl fall onto the floor? No problem. The crockery is rock-solid and will last you a long time. With a stainless-steel 3-piece cutlery set, your child will feel like a real grown-up. The handle is made of plastic to offer proper grip. Learning to cut food is important (and loads of fun!) at this age, but it might be slightly nerve-inducing for the parents. That's why the knife only has a jagged edge on one side, so your child can learn to cut without any danger to their own fingers. The children's plate, bowl and practice plate are suitable for microwaves, dishwasher safe like the cutlery and BPA free.

Two Dutch brands that strengthen one another
The products by Mepal and Little Dutch are indispensable in the lives of growing children. No wonder we are joining forces. Like Mepal, Little Dutch is a thoroughly Dutch brand, and both companies have been developing high-quality, aesthetically pleasing children's products for years.
