Little Dutch got to work on furnishing and decorating the changing rooms

World Prematurity Day 2022

Picture for category

November 17 is World Prematurity Day. This is a day to raise awareness for the issues surrounding premature birth and the world of Neonatology.

In the Netherlands alone, 15,000 babies are born prematurely and about 1,000 babies die from the consequences of their premature birth every year. For those babies that do make it, the problems don't stop after their stay in the incubator. Prematurely born children run a greater risk of developmental disorders and disabilities.

Every year, Little Dutch donates part of the profits of the Sophia Doll and the Super Monkey to the Friends of the Sophia Foundation in Rotterdam. Through this donation, Little Dutch supports special projects at the children's hospital, especially in the Neonatology ward. This year, we focussed on the furnishing and decoration of the changing rooms to make them as comfortable as possible for the babies and their parents. We are still working hard to complete this project, but we will share an update the moment the changing rooms are ready. Little Dutch wishes the Sophia Children's Hospital all the best, and we hope we will be able to contribute to this cause for many years to come.
